Our client an education charity based in Hackney, London is currently seeking a P/T GCSE and Functional Skills Maths Teacher (2/3 days per week Mon, Tue, Wed - £3 3 ,000) to join their team on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for a teacher who believes that confidence in maths can transform life chances. You will support learners to overcome barriers, develop essential numeracy skills and achieve qualifications that enable progression into further education, apprenticeships and employment.
Responsibilities include:
Teach GCSE Mathematics and Functional Skills Maths (Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2) in line with awarding body specifications and charity's curriculum intent.
Deliver engaging, inclusive and well-structured lessons that support learners with a wide range of starting points and abilities.
Prepare learners effectively for examinations and assessments, including revision strategies and exam techniques.
Support learners with SEND, EAL and SEMH needs through inclusive teaching and appropriate reasonable adjustments.
About you:
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert.
Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
A subject specialism in Mathematics or a closely related discipline with a minimum qualification at Level 4.
At least two years' experience teaching GCSE Mathematics and/or Functional Skills Maths within Further Education, Adult Learning or Sixth Form provision.
