Our client, a community development charity based in East London, is seeking a Senior Wellbeing Coordinator to join their team. Working within the Wellbeing team, you will play a key role in delivering their services by providing compassionate, person-centred emotional support to individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis, are at risk of entering one, or are on a path to recovery. You will help to de-escalate individuals in distress, carry out holistic assessments, provide tailored 1:1 support, assist with the delivery of group activities, and ensure appropriate signposting and referrals to relevant services.
Responsibilities
- Lead in delivering immediate, non-judgemental emotional support to individuals presenting in crisis, using trauma-informed and person-centred approaches.
- Coordinate and deliver the de-escalation of high-distress situations, working collaboratively with staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment for both service users and team members.
- Conduct and quality-assure comprehensive initial assessments, identifying complex needs, risk factors, and safeguarding concerns while ensuring all documentation meets internal and external standards.
- Deliver advanced, outcomes-focused one-to-one wellbeing sessions, tailoring interventions to individual needs and supporting service users with complex or high-risk presentations.
About you
- Experience working with adults facing mental health challenges and navigating barriers to accessing services such as housing, health care, benefits, and community support.
- Strong background in engaging with individuals and providing holistic support through one-to-one sessions, assessments, and personalised wellbeing or recovery plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, show empathy, and engage sensitively with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.
- Skilled in providing structured support and using active listening techniques to assess needs, offer guidance, and refer to appropriate services.
