Our client, an education charity based in Hackney, London is currently seeking a P/T GCSE English Language & English Functional Skill Teacher (£28,400 to £31,400 I 3 days per week 25hrs I temporary till with the potential to go permanent) to join their team on a temporary basis. This is a role for a passionate and skilled English educator who is committed to improving learners’ confidence, communication skills, and life chances through high-quality teaching of GCSE English Language and English Functional Skills (Entry Level to Level 2).

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach GCSE English Language and English Functional Skills (Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2) in line with awarding body specifications and ELATT curriculum intent.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners, including SEND and EAL students.
  • Prepare high-quality teaching resources, schemes of work, lesson plans, and differentiated learning activities.

About you:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert.Ed, or equivalent).
  • A subject specialism in English, English Language, Literacy, or Functional Skills English (minimum Level 4).
  • At least 2 years’ experience teaching GCSE English and/or English Functional Skills within Further Education, Adult and Community Learning, or Sixth Form contexts.
