Regional IAP Manager
to provide strategic and operational leadership across our Independent Approved Premises. You will inspire and develop Service Managers, drive safe and high-quality service delivery, and ensure strong performance against contractual, financial and regulatory requirements—all while championing our Christian mission and ethos. This home-based role involves very regular travel to our IAP services in London, Poole and Bradford, with some overnight stays, unsociable hours and participation in the Trust's on-call rota. Provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of Independent Approved Premises, ensuring safe, person-centred delivery against contracts, budgets, KPIs and Langley Trust standards. Drive performance and compliance:
Monitor service performance, maintain inspection readiness and lead robust improvement plans covering quality assurance, safeguarding, risk management, training and regulatory compliance. Develop and inspire managers:
Lead, coach and support Service Managers and, at times, Peripatetic Managers through effective supervision, appraisal, talent development, recruitment and performance management. Champion Christian leadership:
Model Langley Trust's Christian values, provide pastoral leadership and strengthen relationships with churches, volunteers and faith communities to support the Trust's mission. Manage resources, risk and partnerships:
Hold accountability for budgets, staffing and operational risks while building effective relationships with commissioners, HMPPS, probation services, NAPA, community organisations and other partners. Provide flexible regional oversight:
Maintain a visible presence across services, support new developments and neighbouring regions, and participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota; the role requires at least 37 hours per week, considerable travel, overnight stays and some unsociable hours, reporting to the Associate Director of Operations. ABOUT YOU Qualified and experienced leader:
You will hold a recognised probation or relevant management qualification and have significant experience leading high-performing teams across geographically dispersed residential care, supported housing or criminal justice services. Commercially and operationally capable:
You will bring a proven record of meeting targets, managing multiple budgets, improving performance, leading change, managing offender risk and building effective senior-level relationships with commissioners and key stakeholders. A values-led Christian leader:
You will be a practising and professing Christian with an active prayer life, able to lead devotions, model servant-hearted leadership and champion Langley Trust's mission, values and Christian ethos; you must also be willing to undertake enhanced DBS, Adult Barred List and prison clearance checks. The successful candidate will be a practicing Christian who will create an environment where people feel valued, empowered and equipped to do their best work. This person will play a full part to further the organisational aims and provide strong Christian leadership to allow Langley to be a leader within the different sectors in which it operates. The postholder will always uphold the Trust's Christian ethos and Christ like culture and therefore there is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practicing and professing Christian under the Equality Act 2010. Please note that the successful candidate will need to be happy to adapt to change and flexible in their duties. No one day will be the same so the ability to refocus frequently is important.
