Lead a global travel programme for a major international organisation with significant scope for cost savings and operational efficiency. Negotiate commercial contracts with major travel suppliers including airlines and hotels to drive financial benefits. Shape travel policy and sustainability initiatives whilst managing a dedicated travel team. Work with senior leadership across multiple jurisdictions and cultures in a collaborative, supportive environment. Develop your expertise through formal training, mentoring and continuous professional development from day one.
As Head of Travel, you will own and evolve the global travel policy whilst managing the complete travel platform. You'll identify and deliver substantial cost savings through strategic supplier engagement and contract negotiation with airlines, hotels and other travel providers. The role combines financial management, stakeholder leadership and sustainability focus. You'll work closely with internal teams to support their travel needs and emergencies, whilst collaborating with the sustainability team to reduce carbon emissions from business travel.
Responsibilities:- Own and evolve the global travel policy to reflect best practice and organisational needs.
- Manage the travel platform and oversee all aspects of the global travel programme.
- Negotiate commercial and contract terms with airlines, hotels and third-party travel suppliers.
- Identify and deliver large-scale cost savings and efficiency opportunities through strategic travel initiatives.
- Lead and manage the travel team, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
- Manage travel budgets and expenses, monitoring spend and identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the sustainability team to lower emissions from business travel.
- Present travel programme updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships and influence behavioural change across the organisation.
- Proven experience in travel management or related procurement and contract negotiation roles.
- Strong understanding of travel best practice, processes and industry tools.
- Demonstrated track record of identifying and delivering significant cost savings through global travel strategies.
- Experience leading complex global supplier engagement and negotiating supplier contracts.
- Ability to manage and influence difficult stakeholders across multiple levels and departments.
- Experience presenting to senior leadership and board-level audiences.
- Knowledge of change management techniques to support behavioural change in partnership environments.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
