This role is central to our client's technology strategy. You'll manage vendor relationships for a specific IT category, acting as a trusted business partner to technology leadership. You'll develop and maintain supplier strategies for strategic vendors, support contract negotiations and renewals, and identify innovation opportunities that drive efficiencies and growth. By maintaining forward-looking renewal planning and using data to inform decisions, you'll ensure strategic vendor governance aligns with the organisation's broader objectives and delivers real value.
Responsibilities- Lead vendor management for a designated IT category and act as business partner to technology tower leads.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key technology suppliers and strategic vendors.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive supplier strategies aligned with organisational technology objectives.
- Support contract negotiations and renewals, ensuring commercial terms reflect market conditions and value.
- Collaborate with procurement and technology leadership to select vendors that meet strategic requirements.
- Align market unit vendor activity with the organisation's technology strategy and broader goals.
- Identify innovation opportunities and drive efficiencies across all supplier engagements.
- Ensure strategic vendor governance frameworks are in place to drive innovation, growth and delivery.
- Maintain a forward view of renewals and new vendor engagements to support planning and decision-making.
- Use data and insights to inform decisions, improve vendor delivery and measure outcomes.
- Hold senior leaders to account and influence at all levels with integrity and confidence.
- Proven experience managing third-party suppliers, ideally within IT or technology sectors.
- Strong IT contract skills and commercial acumen with demonstrated negotiation experience.
- IACCM, WCC or CIPS certification (desirable but not essential).
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and governance frameworks relevant to vendor management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident ability to influence senior leaders and hold them to account.
- Data-driven mindset with ability to use insights to improve outcomes and inform decisions.
