Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Group Procurement and Supply Chain to drive the development and performance of their end-to-end supply chain. This strategic leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic and fast-paced organisation.
Position Overview
The Director, Procurement and Supply Chain will be responsible for the group-wide development and performance of the end-to-end supply chain, encompassing strategy development, sourcing, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, contract management, policies, processes, tools, supplier management, supply chain compliance and 3rd party risk.
This critical role will drive continuous review and improvement of the Group Procurement processes and policies, develop and manage the overall procurement and supply chain function, and deliver a high-impact strategy to achieve target benefits and financial savings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a procurement and supply chain strategy across the group to deliver target benefits and financial savings, including approving each country's procurement and supply chain strategy.
- Review and develop the Group Procurement organisational structure to effectively meet the needs of the business and its customers.
- Own risk and compliance oversight of the extended supply chain, identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies to support the successful execution of major projects and operational performance.
- Lead complex negotiations, business case development and strategy implementation to optimise operational performance.
- Define and manage key supplier relationships to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service, and quality.
- Own the development, training and implementation of policies, processes and tools for the function, ensuring group-wide implementation.
- Lead supply chain operational assessments and the development of recovery plans, corrective and preventative actions related to both compliance and performance.
- Report functional level strategy, performance, risks and opportunities to other group functions, market leadership, and senior executives.
- Ensure all goods and services purchased comply with corporate social sustainability and compliance policies.
- Deliver end-to-end supply chain performance in line with agreed objectives and KPIs, driving continuous improvement initiatives and in-depth analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in the Social Sciences, Business Management, Supply Chain/Procurement, or a related field.
- 15+ years of relevant experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership Procurement/Supply Chain role across a global complex business or businesses.
- Significant previous procurement experience with responsibility for delivery of procurement benefits including financial savings.
- Emerging markets experience is essential.
- Strong leadership skills in a complex environment with high levels of ambiguity around predicted or future demand.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Project management skills and excellent team management and people skills.
- Ability to negotiate at the highest levels with suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- French language skills advantageous.
