Our client, a world-renowned organisation with a mission to deliver quality information worldwide, is seeking a skilled Procurement Manager to join their team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective procurement strategies that align with the organisation's objectives.

As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Building strong relationships with key business collaborators, gaining an in-depth understanding of their needs, and developing tailored procurement strategies to support the organisation's goals.
  • Working closely with various teams to define specific requirements for planned procurements, advise on case development, and improve procurement efficiency through refined tender and evaluation processes.
  • Reviewing commercial models and options to align with both business and supplier strategies.
  • Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation plans with agreed actions.
  • Ensuring appropriate business engagement at all stages of the procurement process.
  • Leading negotiations on complex commercial and contractual terms.
  • Drafting contractual terms and conditions in collaboration with the legal team when required.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and compliance with commercial agreements.
  • Employing standard methodology procurement methods to manage risk and optimise value.
  • Proactively managing procurement projects to completion.
  • Reporting on procurement activities, including cost savings and valuable benefits, to the Senior Procurement Manager.
  • Sharing knowledge, mentoring junior procurement staff, and supporting procurement colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Business degree or equivalent commercial work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a procurement role within a blue-chip, commercial environment, ideally covering a wide range of indirect procurement categories.
  • Experience working in a non-mandated procurement environment, with the ability to influence collaborators at various levels.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent commercial skill, with experience across multiple commercial models.
  • Strong contract management and supplier performance management experience.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent activities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in contract drafting and negotiation, covering both legal and commercial clauses.
