Working in one of the region's most prestigious hotels, Langley Castle is rated 4* (Silver) and has an award-winning 2 AA Rosette fine dining restaurant. Our kitchen team is the heart of the hotel, providing breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and fine dining in the evening to our guests, both resident and non-resident, as well as catering for weddings and events. Due to increased levels of business, we are now looking to expand our team and find our next superstar!
We are seeking a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to join the brigade at our established 4-star hotel and 2 AA Rosette restaurant. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate chef looking to develop their career within a quality-driven environment that prides itself on exceptional food, locally sourced ingredients, and outstanding guest experiences.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in maintaining the high standards expected of a Rosette-awarded kitchen while helping to lead, motivate, and develop the team.
The Role- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen.
- Assist in leading and inspiring a brigade focused on quality and consistency.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP procedures.
- Help manage stock control, ordering, and minimising waste.
- Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal specials.
- Deputise for the Head Chef during periods of absence.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Junior Sous Chef ready for the next step.
- Experience working in a quality hotel, fine dining, or Rosette-level kitchen.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Passion for fresh, seasonal produce and high-quality cooking.
- Organised, reliable, and able to perform under pressure.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
