2nd Line Support Engineer / Service Desk Analyst Salary: £25k + benefits Key Technologies: Citrix, Terminal Services, VMWare, AD, Exchange, Windows Server, Veeam, Office 365 About the role The 2nd Line Support Engineer/Service Desk role will be office based in our Manchester office, working as part of a small team and providing effective solutions to escalated technical issues while delivering a high level of technical expertise to the business. You will investigate problems, provide root‑cause analysis and work with technologies such as Citrix, VMWare, Exchange, AD, Windows Server, Cloud, Veeam and Office 365. Key Responsibilities * Support multi‑site technical environments including LAN, WAN, Microsoft, VMWare, Exchange, Citrix, AD and Office 365 * Take ownership of escalated issues as 2nd line support and resolve queries within SLA * Provide root‑cause analysis and resolution of configuration and deployment issues * Ensure third‑party applications run efficiently across all platforms and provide root‑cause analysis for any problems * Maintain and develop good working relationships with colleagues, other departments and suppliers * Perform any other related duties as required by the business * Provide on‑call support when required (includes an on‑call allowance and additional overtime) Essential Technical Skills * Experience with desktop applications including Exchange, AD and Windows Server * Basic understanding of VMWare / Hyper‑V * Experience with Office 365 * Experience with Citrix / Citrix XenApp * Experience with backup software (Veeam preferred) * Knowledge of storage replication and multi‑site storage deployments Benefits (Negotiable) * Basic salary up to £25k * Pension * Child Vouchers * On‑call allowance and additional paid overtime * Birthday off as holiday Requirements Candidates must have a service desk and technical background in VMWare / Hyper‑V, MS Exchange, AD, Citrix, coupled with a strong customer service ethos and passion for resolving queries within SLA.
