We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major COINS ERP upgrade programme for a leading organisation in the construction and housebuilding sector.
The client is specifically looking for a business‑focused, functional Business Analyst, rather than a technical specialist. The role requires someone confident operating in the business, engaging heavily with commercial teams, and acting as the face of IT.
Key Responsibilities- Engage directly with commercial, finance, and operational stakeholders to elicit, define, and challenge business requirements.
- Lead as‑is / to‑be process analysis and support the design of future‑state operating models.
- Define, document, and support the rollout of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide functional BA support to a COINS ERP upgrade (v12.05), enhancements, and data migration activities.
- Work closely with the business to ensure COINS supports commercial controls, governance, and reporting.
- Support user acceptance testing and business readiness activities.
- Act as a trusted intermediary between business users and IT delivery teams.
- Proven COINS ERP experience (essential).
- Strong background as a functional / business‑facing Business Analyst.
- Experience supporting ERP upgrades, enhancements, and data migration from a business perspective.
- Strong understanding of commercial processes, ideally within construction or housebuilding.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior commercial stakeholders.
- Confidence to challenge current processes and drive adoption of new ways of working.
- Experience producing process maps, functional requirements, and SOP documentation.
- Proficient with Visio or similar tools.
- Experience delivering at least one BoQ implementation, ideally within COINS.
- Exposure to ERP cloud migration readiness or preparation.
- Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments.
- Rate: £595 per day
- IR35: Outside IR35
- Duration: 6‑month initial contract with strong extension possibility (up to 18 months)
- Location: Hybrid — ideally 2 days per week onsite in Birmingham (up to 3 if required)
