We are working with a disruptive Paignton-based technology company that is developing breakthrough hardware solutions for high-performance computing and advanced connectivity — with real-world applications in data infrastructure, AI systems, and beyond. They are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer with experience at both board and system levels to join them in their mission to redefine how data moves through complex systems — driving speed, efficiency, and sustainability. You will be involved in the design, development, and testing of advanced hardware prototypes, helping to take products from concept through to production. This hands-on role includes circuit design, integration, validation, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams and external manufacturing partners. This position is ideal for candidates with 4–5 years of hardware design experience gained through academic research or commercial engineering roles. Design and integrate advanced hardware modules, including high-speed digital and embedded systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across electrical, mechanical, RF, and software disciplines. Conduct signal and power integrity analysis to ensure optimal performance. Support compliance testing (e.g. EMC/EMI) and work with partners through the manufacturing process. Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous hardware improvements. Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and board-level design principles. Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or TCL for automation and test setups. Proficient in PCB design tools such as Altium or Cadence. Knowledge of thermal and mechanical aspects of electronic systems. Degree in Electronics, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
