Are you a Simulink/MATLAB specialist with a love of mathematics who wants to work on the most interesting problems in motorsport? This role is open to candidates with high mathematical skills and credentials, who have excelled academically with demonstrable achievement. Our client plays a pivotal role in transforming the performance strategies of motorsport teams, including those in Formula 1, Formula E, Indy Car, LMP, and other series.

You will immerse yourself in cutting-edge simulation tools and explore the intricacies of vehicle dynamics, including thermal and mechanical tyre modelling, race regulation changes, battery constraints, energy optimisation, and virtual controls. A strong background in mathematics and software engineering is essential.

Duties will include:

  • Engaging with clients to enhance their understanding of vehicle performance.
  • Maximising the utility of advanced simulation tools.
  • Identifying and resolving bugs reported by clients or found during in-house testing.
  • Introducing new features based on client requests.
  • Developing innovative components for new simulation approaches to achieve competitive success.

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote role.
  • A passion for motorsport, including Formula 1, Formula E, Indy Car, or similar series.
  • Expertise in physical modelling, with a deep understanding of the mathematics and physics of physical systems.
  • Highly mathematical mindset with proven skills in applied and theoretical maths and physics.
