We are seeking a Design Engineer with strong FPGA, VHDL and digital board level design experience to lead on sub systems design and integration of various modules into space / satellite systems.
Key Purpose of Job
The Sub-system design engineer role involves owning a mission technical solution, design, and integration of various modules into the satellite.
Key Tasks
- Understand the mission requirements and then derive sub-system requirements
- Define the OBDH (on board data handling) sub-system architecture and interfaces to other sub-systems
- Update existing FPGA designs, and create new FPGA IP cores, against the mission requirements
- Generation of appropriate design documentation
- Work closely in a core project team, providing technical support to project managers, suppliers, and customers
- Responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the defined/delegated package of work which includes, Technical Solution, Budget and ScheduleExperience
Experience
- Experience of system level design in either the satellite industry or equivalent
- Several years experience of FPGA design using VHDL
- Several years experience of digital board level design
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of FPGAs
- Knowledge of Lab Test Equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to deliver to challenging schedules
