The Langham, London, Europe's first Grand Hotel and a luxury 5-star rated property, is currently seeking a Director of Sales to join our talented Sales & Marketing team. We are looking for a true leader, an astute negotiator, a revenue driver, and a motivated 'hunter' salesperson.
In the role of the Director of Sales, your key focus will be to:
- Act as a deputy for the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Lead and direct the proactive sales team across all market segments.
- Plan and coordinate sales team activities, ensuring that team members produce and execute quarterly action plans.
- Conduct team management activities, including performance reviews, recruitment, rewards and recognition, and one-on-one meetings.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to define and implement strategies aimed at achieving revenue goals.
- Undertake sales calls and presentations to maintain and grow relationships, maximising revenue from the assigned account base and geographical territory.
- Conduct sales trips within the territory as required by the annual sales and marketing plan, adhering to corporate travel policies and budgetary guidelines.
- Lead the hotel's engagement with LHG Global Sales offices, ensuring effective communication regarding hotel needs and offers, and plan GSO sales activities on behalf of the hotel.
- Achieve annual KPIs (hotel and GSO).
- Ensure compliance with all LHG programs, standards, and procedures to maintain customer service quality goals.
Do you have:
- A proven track record in leading and managing medium-sized teams.
- Proven proactive sales experience in the UK groups, corporate, and travel industry market segments (essential).
- Evidence of your ability to prospect for new business from previous experience.
- Strong negotiation skills and a drive for revenue as a motivated 'hunter' salesperson.
- Experience in the luxury hotel sector (sales and operations) along with GSO experience (desirable).
- Experience in organising trade shows on a large scale—for example, IMEX, Sales Missions, ILTM Cannes.
- Strong business communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to travel for work without visa restrictions.
