Langham Hall Graduate Scheme – Trainee Accountant

Key Responsibilities
Become a Qualified Fund Accountant. Our graduate scheme is designed to give you everything you need to train as a professional accountant. From day one, you’ll gain hands-on client experience while studying towards your ACCA qualification with full support from us. You’ll build a strong foundation in fund accounting and have a strong promotion route within a client service team.
What you’ll learn
Graduates develop a wide range of technical and professional skills, including:
- Core accounting skills: from bookkeeping to preparing complex financial statements and consolidations
- Interaction with the highest profile fund managers and investors in alternative assets
- Accounting for structures and investments in private equity, debt, real estate and infrastructure funds
- Technical training on the impact of the latest accounting standards
- Building financial models based on funds’ legal agreements
- Managing a range of associated deliverables including compliance reporting, tax and ad hoc accounting projects
- Learning how to manage a team including delegation and organisational skills
- Life skills such as leadership, communication and problem solving

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A degree at 2:1 or above (any discipline), or AAT Level 3 with strong accounts preparation experience
- Strong academic background — typically three B grades at A-Level (or equivalent) and good GCSE results
- Genuine interest in the alternative investment industry
- Ambition to train as a qualified accountant (ACCA)
- Confident with MS Excel and Word
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid numeracy and written English
- Curiosity, motivation, and a willingness to learn
