As a Junior Clinician, you will work as part of our Behaviour department, gaining hands‑on experience in all aspects of behavioural medicine. You’ll be joining a dynamic and supportive multi‑disciplinary team in our busy Small Animal Referral Hospital and contributing to the expansion of behaviour services. Our behaviour team currently consists of a staff clinician in Veterinary Behaviour and a Behaviour Nurse. This is a unique opportunity for a candidate interested in starting or advancing a career in veterinary behaviour and is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon with at least 2 years of post‑graduation clinical experience, who has developed a range of skills in clinical animal behaviour.

What You’ll Do

  • Work as part of the behaviour department, assisting with initial consultations and follow‑up care, contributing to client support and the prescribing of psychoactive medications as appropriate.
  • Provide excellent written communication and reports to referring veterinarians and clients.
  • Receive mentorship from our experienced veterinary behaviourist and behaviour nurse, as well as the clinicians, nurses and physiotherapists in the wider hospital team.
  • Provide continuous veterinary cover for behaviour patients during periods of colleague absence.
  • Participate in regular rounds and case discussions between the behaviour and chronic pain rehabilitation teams.
  • Contribute to clinical teaching of veterinary nurse students.
