The Role
We are looking to recruit a permanent Pipefitter/Welder to join our Site Services team, based from our Salford facility. The successful candidate will carry out pipefitting and TIG welding activities on customer sites. When not deployed on site, you will be seconded to our Salford workshop, supporting fabrication and manufacturing activities. This role offers a balance of site-based work and workshop fabrication, making it ideal for a skilled tradesperson seeking long-term stability while still working on varied and technically challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out pipefitting and welding activities on industrial sites and in the Salford workshop
- Perform high-quality TIG welding, including tacking and full welds, in line with approved procedures
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, fabrication drawings and weld specifications
- Measure up existing pipework on site and produce accurate sketches for fabrication
- Work with a range of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex steels, and nickel alloys
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and quality at all times
- Comply with site HSE requirements and Langfields quality systems
Ideal Candidate
- Time-served Pipefitter with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
- Able to read and understand isometric drawings
- Experienced working with carbon steels, stainless steels, duplex steels and nickel alloys
- Capable of measuring up existing pipework and producing sketches for fabrication
- Competent in tacking and welding using the TIG process
- Previous or current welding codings (e.g. ASME IX) are highly desirable
- Safety-conscious, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a site and workshop team
- Based within a considerable distance of Salford
