If so, our Warehouse Operative role is the job for you! Here at Langdons, we have an amazing opportunity for a Warehouse Operative to join the team based in Barnsley. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday 12:30 to 22:00. In return, you will receive a highly competitive salary of £29,857.11 per annum plus excellent company benefits!
What the Warehouse Operative role involves:
This is a fantastic role which will always keep you on the move. Your role will be to undertake allocated warehouse-related duties in a safe, cost-effective and efficient manner.

We have 9 depots and over 375 lorries carrying chilled and frozen food all over the country. We’re the only company providing a 24-hour service of this kind, and we’re very good at it. What you’ll be doing as our Warehouse Operative:
- Receive and check loads into the warehouse, ensuring all correct packaging and labelling is in place
- Ensure all stock handled is secure and complies with relevant food safety standards
- Operate assigned mechanical handling equipment to store and transport customer goods safely
- Assist with assembling loads for despatch and onto vehicles
- Conduct quality checks to ensure standards of cleanliness and hygiene levels
- Take action to ensure any hazards are controlled or removed to ensure a safe working environment
What qualifications and experience we are looking for:
- Up-to-date licence to use designated mechanical equipment
- IT literate in Microsoft Office packages
- The ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data
- Extensive knowledge and application of warehouse, food safety rules and health and safety procedures

- Ability to use initiative and to be organised so that key tasks are completed fully and on time
- Ability to work to set targets and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven arithmetic skills
