Langdons is looking for an active and reliable LGV (Shunter) Driver to join our Bridgwater team. The role is full‑time, permanent, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary of £40,277.32 per annum. You will be responsible for moving LGV/HGV vehicles and trailers, directing on‑site traffic, and coordinating with the dock office and transport departments to ensure safe, cost‑effective and efficient movement of goods.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, report defects or damage, and complete relevant documentation.
- Perform trailer checks for loaded trailers and report to the operations desk.
- Carry out shunting duties, including maintenance and safety checks.
- Follow company rules, site procedures, and all Health & Safety and Hygiene requirements.
- Effectively manage own working time and liaise with colleagues to complete shift reports.
- Coordinate with the warehouse control and goods‑in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading/unloading of trailers.
- Complete vehicle downloads and monitor services and MOTs.
- Keep the yard clean and tidy.
- Liaise with the Transport Office as required.
- Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a good work ethic, strong time‑management skills, and a valid LGV Cat C&E licence.
