Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a new challenge with a reputable and forward-thinking company? We’re looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our busy workshop team to maintain and repair our fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles to the highest standards. Here at Langdons, we have an amazing opportunity for an HGV Workshop Technician to join the team based in Bridgwater. You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:00 (week 1) and 14:00 - 22:00 (week 2) - rotating shift and in return, you will receive a highly competitive salary of £45,225.11 per annum.

What you’ll be doing as our Workshop Technician

  • Ensuring vehicles are repaired and maintained in accordance with prescribed standards
  • Preparing and presenting vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections
  • Diagnosing vehicle-related defects using available diagnostic equipment and arrange for relevant action to be taken
  • Liaising with vehicle manufacturers regarding acquiring of parts and replacement vehicles, keeping key colleagues informed of progress where necessary
  • Ensuring high levels of safety and cleanliness at all times and that required housekeeping duties meet required standards
  • Updating and maintaining appropriate records and ensuring all relevant information is shared with relevant departments on a timely basis

What qualifications and experience are we looking for in our Workshop Technician

  • Qualified to Level 3 or equivalent in HGV/LGV maintenance and repair
  • Experienced in using transport repair tools and associated software
  • Experienced in following established procedures and problem-solving and/or making sound judgements where not all information is available

  • Ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data
  • Ability to use initiative and organise their work so that key tasks can be completed fully and on time
