Kisharon Langdon has an exciting opportunity for Support Workers (full time) to join their growing team in the Prestwich, Manchester area. About the Role
As a Support Worker you will be required to work individually and as part of a team to support and enable our members to live as independently as possible. You will be responsible for working with our employment team to facilitate employment opportunities and assisting and supporting our members to enjoy an active social life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, work flexible hours which will involve working early and late shifts (typically between 0700 & 2200), every other weekend and bank holidays in accordance with member need.
- Assist and support in the provision of social, health and personal care including providing support in assisting moving, use of wheelchair and hoist as required.
- Support and enable our members to live as independently as possible and develop new and existing skills.
- Support individuals to achieve goals that link to the Kisharon Langdon mission.
- Assist in supporting our members in designing and developing their support/care plans.
- Enable our members to form relationships and wider social networks.
- Support our members to observe Jewish Culture.
- Promote and adhere to the workplace values (Respect, Integrity, Community, and Excellence).
About You
If you are already working in the care sector or looking for a career change and enjoy engaging with people and have a real desire to make a difference to someoneβs life, then we want to hear from you. Ideally you will be:
- Confident with dealing with challenging behaviours and provide personal care.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, you must have a good standard of written English.
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities is desirable but not essential as full training will be given to the successful applicant.
- Ideally you will hold a UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work use, but this is desirable and not essential.
