Live-in accommodation may be available for exceptional candidates. This role is based on-site at Langdale Hotel and Spa, Ambleside, LA22 9JD.

Role Summary

We are seeking a reliable and organised Kitchen Team Leader to support the smooth operation of our Stove Restaurant Kitchen, supervising our team of Kitchen Porters. Working alongside our Head Chef, this role is essential in maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and stock control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads and supports a team of Kitchen Porters.
  • Goods receiving food and non-food stock, managing quality, dates and damage.
  • Follow the Food Safety Management System to ensure correct stock rotation of fridges, freezers and stores.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is functioning properly and schedule maintenance as needed.
  • Record and process supplier invoices and credit notes using the procurement system, ensuring accuracy and accountability for cost of goods.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation.
  • Comfortable with record-keeping and computer systems.
  • Able to work independently and follow established procedures.
  • Previous kitchen, catering, or stores experience is required.
