Our client is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector, employing over 1,400 staff across eight regional centres.
They support long‑term frameworks in the water sector and increasingly work in joint ventures and alliances.
Project Overview
Multi‑million‑pound upgrade to an existing Water Supply Works located near Winchester, a critical Southern Water facility that supplies drinking water to approximately 250,000 homes.
Role Summary
You will report directly to the MEICA Manager and collaborate with the Project Director to coordinate an effective and economical plant design and procurement strategy, ensure timely information flow for construction and commissioning, and provide cost data for forecasts and variation evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure project costs do not exceed the tender or varied allowance.
- Ensure all applications for payment are made on or before the due date.
- Complete and submit contract reviews and monthly forecasts on time.
- Maintain good client relationships at all levels.
- Assist with the Project Management strategy.
- Establish and maintain the contract filing systems.
- Assist in the production of the contract programme; monitor programme and produce progress reports.
- Provide data for the timely production of O&M manuals.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Liaise with site management on design and procurement issues.
- Monitor subcontract performance.
- Assist in the preparation of the construction completion and take‑over documentation.
- Maintain a positive, solution‑oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
- Work closely with design departments to ensure timely progress of quality solutions.
- Evaluate innovative solutions and processes.
- Contribute to risk and opportunity schedules on a monthly basis.
- Ensure designs are safe to construct, commission, operate and maintain.
- Complete the capitalisation process.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Basic engineering background.
- Working knowledge of various conditions of contract, especially NEC.
- Engineering/Technical qualification (HNC minimum) required.
- Experience of supply chain expedition.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
- CDM & Health & Safety knowledge.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant professional qualification an advantage.
