Salary Guide: 80,000 - 90,000 Plus Bonus, Car/Allowance & Excellent Package

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominantly in the water industry who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for Thames Water. They are recruiting for a Regional Commissioning Manager to help deliver these projects.

You will report to the Senior Commissioning Manager and you will deliver commissioning planning and commissioning activities for all projects in the appointed area. You will also provide ownership of the commissioning process through all stages of a project lifecycle and achieving efficiencies associated with handover.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Resource and line management within the appointed area
  • Mentor and manage apprentices and graduates within your hub/area
  • Day to day management and coordination of all commissioning and commissioning planning activities, including planning for process commissioning and testing, within your hub/region.
  • Ensure Commissioning is carried out safely in accordance with regulations and procedures.
  • Carrying out commissioning activities personally on occasion
  • Effective engagement with client and operational staff to:
  • Obtain buy‑in to proposed commissioning plan
  • Ensure the effective integration of assets into the existing works without detriment and risk to service level agreements.
  • Achieve fast and effective handovers (including the timely delivery of all commissioning documentation, training, etc).
  • Act as the "Commissioning Manager" for the purposes of Hazard Studies 4, 5 and 6 for your hub/area and collaborate with other regional commissioning managers to share best practice
  • Co‑operate with the Engineering Team to ensure "design for commissioning".
  • Prepare training plans, organise specialist training by equipment suppliers and personally deliver training where appropriate.
  • Facilitate feedback of improvement information from commissioning.
  • Encourage and manage off‑site testing and pre‑commissioning activities by suppliers or others.
  • Ensure all necessary Commissioning documentation is produced in a timely manner and co‑operate with Technical Documentation teams to ensure timely delivery of O&M manuals.
  • Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

    • Relevant degree (electrical, mechanical or process) or other qualification
    • Site experience in commissioning, preferably in water industry
    • Electrical SAP qualification desirable
    • Previous experience as a commissioning manager within a similar industry and size of company.
