Client: Is a Tier 1 design and build engineering contractor operating predominantly in the water industry, who are delivering a significant proportion of Anglian Water's programme of clean and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.

The Role
Our client is looking to strengthen their Commercial team with a Project Commercial Manager based at their Peterborough office with hybrid working available.
You'll be accountable for the commercial and cost management for the project from inception to close out reporting directly to the Project Director.
You’ll challenge current commercial thinking and agreements, working with the Project Director and their team on all project matters.
Responsibilities
- Ensure robust estimates are provided that are aligned to scope and make due allowance for all risks and opportunities.
- Manage the procurement process ensuring that all strategies are developed and agreed and that tender processes are followed correctly.
- Subcontractors are properly managed in accordance with contract requirements including compliance, communications, payments, compensation events and programme submissions.
- Ensure robust cost management is undertaken at all times including accurate live forecasting and actual costs vs estimates.
- Ensure that accurate and trusted records are kept so that all financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available.
- Continually strive to develop processes and procedures to ensure standardisation across the commercial teams delivery process
- Develop members of the team with commercial knowledge and experience gained over numerous years in industry.
Experience
Educated to Degree/HNC level or equivalent in quantity surveying or a related discipline.
- RICS/CIOB/CICES
- Delivery of multiple and or complex projects ranging in values from £100k to multi-million pound projects with experience of the following:
- Managing/Leading a team
- Contract administration, working with NEC suite of contracts
- Managing change. Procurement
- Risk and opportunity management. Negotiation. Estimating
