Our Client is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting long-term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.
The Project involves a 50m major upgrade to the largest Water Supply Works in Hampshire, including the replacement of equipment that has come to the end of its working life and improving parts of the treatment process.
The Role: Report directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and take responsibility for the Commercial Management of Project(s).
- Applications, valuations / cost value reconciliation.
- Cost control and forecasting.
- Prepare and feed information for monthly reports: value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow.
- Supply chain management.
- Assist with Risk and Value Management to optimise solution.
- Mentor and regularly review with the project team.
- Liaise with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost.
- Manage the main contract ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary.
- Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors.
- Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment.
- Contract Management including all relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control and relevant software applications.
- Prepare subcontract enquiries, negotiate and set up contracts.
- Ensure all notifications/documents are kept up to date.
- Ensure all safety risk situations are brought to the attention of site management.
- Ongoing liaison with site team, subcontractor(s) and clients' representative(s).
- Provide contractual advice to the site team as and when required.
Experience – Essential:
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- ARICS or studying for APC.
- Experience working with a main contractor.
- Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors.
Experience – Desirable:
- Experience working within Water.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Knowledge of CEMAR.
