Location: Winchester with hybrid working available

Salary: 120k+ (Neg DOE), car/allowance, bonus and excellent benefits package

Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting eight long-term water sector frameworks, operating both independently and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.

The Role: Our client seeks to strengthen their Commercial team with a Senior Commercial Manager/Commercial Director based in the Southern Water Region. The role involves managing a large project valued at circa 150m, providing commercial support and leadership to ensure the project is delivered within budget and on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Contract Management: Oversee contract negotiations, ensuring they serve our client’s best interests.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial risks proactively.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Change Management: Manage contract changes proactively.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, control costs, and enhance profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise the commercial team to meet departmental goals.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a commercial management role, preferably within the water sector.
  • Experience managing projects valued over 100m successfully.
  • BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction field.
  • Professional qualification with RICS, ICES, or CIOB.
  • Deep knowledge of NEC, PSC, and ECC contracts with clients and supply chains.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and financial processes in large-scale projects.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in senior management roles and delivering strategic business objectives.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to develop best practices and future strategies.
