Position: Design Manager/Senior Design Manager - Thames Water AMP8 Projects
Location: Rickmansworth OR Hampton (With Hybrid Working)

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, delivering a number of water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects for Thames Water. They are recruiting for Design Managers or Senior Design Managers to be based from one of their Thames Water offices either near Rickmansworth or Hampton with hybrid working available.
In this role you will lead projects through their design phases for a portfolio of projects. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are delivered in line with all stakeholder requirements and programme expectations.
- Committing to excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design, complying fully with relevant local specifications, codes, rules, regulations, and requirements.
- Identifying and managing H&S hazards and communicating all residual risks effectively to stakeholders.
- Leading the Design team to ensure a focused approach to meet customer requirements and project objectives.
- Being accountable for expenditure, driving efficiency, and managing overall outturn costs for design.
- Organising all elements of design, documenting it in the Design Management Plan, and preparing monthly status update reports.
- Attending and contributing to all relevant programme, project, and technical meetings.
- Ensuring that the technical solution is produced to outperform on costs while maintaining quality standards and timely delivery.
- Providing technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages.
- Ensuring all technical work is undertaken to the correct standards and specifications, following appropriate systems of work and quality assurance.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience of multi-disciplinary design management in a design-build environment.
- Delivery-driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams.
- Extensive experience in large-scale project delivery.
- Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
- Good general knowledge of all aspects of water treatment.
- Working towards or have obtained APM Project Management Qualification.
- Experience in the Water/Wastewater Treatment Industry.
- Knowledge of BIM procedures and techniques.
