Due to a large contract win, Sapphire Utility Solutions are seeking several Operatives based in Lancashire to work on our United Utilities workstream.
- Salary: £32,500-£34,840 per annum (depending on experience)
- Hours: 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday, flexible start times)
- Overtime: paid at time and a half.

About the role
We are seeking several operatives to join us due to a large long‑term contract that Sapphire Utility Solutions have won.
You will be doing pre‑surveys, CCTV and jetting of the drainage network.
Training will be provided and a van will be given to go to work from home.
Ideally you will have drainage experience however training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities - but not limited to
- You will be working closely with another Drainage Engineer to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities.
- Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales.
- Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
- Operate high‑pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
- Assist with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
- Competent in using an electronic device – laptop / tablet for data entry purposes.
- Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures.
Requirements for the role
- A manual UK Drivers licence is mandatory with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Experience is desirable however if you’re looking to start your career within utilities full training will be offered.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Competent in IT, accurate data entry.
- Team player.
- Positive, can‑do attitude.
