About the role As a Site Supervisor for the night shift at Lanesgroup, you will play a crucial role in overseeing operations and ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently and safely during the nighttime hours. You will be the key point of contact for night operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards.

What you'll do

  • Oversee all site activities during the night shift, ensuring that projects are progressing according to schedule and within budget.
  • Manage a team of workers, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, addressing any issues promptly to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Liaise with project managers and other stakeholders to report on progress, challenges, and any necessary adjustments to project plans.
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment to the site, ensuring that all resources are available when needed to avoid delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including work completed, materials used, and any incidents that occur during the night shift.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring that all team members are aware of and adhere to these standards.
  • Provide training and support to new team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the night shift, working collaboratively with team members to find effective solutions.
  • Prepare reports for management on site performance, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good working order and report any maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Promote a positive team environment, encouraging open communication and collaboration among team members.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the construction or civil engineering sector, with a strong understanding of site operations.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using relevant software and tools for project management, reporting, and communication.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various sites as required.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands.

Nice to have

  • Relevant certifications in health and safety, such as NEBOSH or IOSH, would be advantageous.
