About the role As a Scheduler at Lanesgroup, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our projects by managing schedules and coordinating resources effectively.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all tasks are clearly defined and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for scheduling.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in scope or resources.
  • Utilize scheduling software to create visual timelines and reports that communicate project status to relevant parties.
  • Identify potential scheduling conflicts and proactively resolve them to minimize disruptions to project timelines.
  • Prepare and distribute regular updates to team members and management regarding schedule changes and project milestones.
  • Assist in resource allocation by tracking team availability and skill sets to ensure optimal assignment of tasks.
  • Conduct regular reviews of project schedules to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
  • Support the onboarding of new team members by providing them with relevant scheduling information and tools.
  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure that materials and equipment are available when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all scheduling activities and decisions for future reference and accountability.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide insights on scheduling and resource management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in project scheduling or a similar role, ideally within the utilities or construction sectors.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, and familiarity with other project management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in project management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to the construction and utilities sectors is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with resource management principles and techniques.

  • Experience with Agile or Lean project management methodologies.
  • Certification in project management (e. g., PMP, PRINCE2) would be beneficial.
