What you'll do

  • Lead and supervise a team of operational staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet performance targets.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance efficiency and productivity across the facility.
  • Monitor daily operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of activities.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback and coaching to team members to foster their professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Prepare and analyze operational reports, using data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring that supplies are adequately stocked and that resources are utilized effectively.
  • Facilitate training sessions for new hires and ongoing development programs for existing staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Address and resolve any operational issues or conflicts that arise, maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that service delivery meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions, contributing insights and recommendations based on operational performance and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an operations supervisory role or similar position, ideally within the construction or utilities sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with experience using relevant software tools.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in an operational setting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in business management, operations management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

  • Experience in the utilities or construction industry is advantageous.
