What you'll do
- Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles to transport materials and equipment to various job sites, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with all road regulations.
- Assist in the planning and execution of minor civil engineering projects, including drainage works, road repairs, and utility installations.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and project managers to ensure that all work is carried out according to project specifications and timelines.
- Conduct site inspections to assess project progress and identify any potential issues or safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including daily logs and reports on materials used and labor hours.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on project status and address any concerns that may arise.
- Ensure that all equipment and vehicles are maintained in good working order, reporting any faults or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, promoting a culture of safety within the team and on-site.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to civil engineering and HGV operations.

Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in civil engineering or construction, preferably in a minor works capacity.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to construction and civil engineering.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using technology and software relevant to project management and reporting.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor as required on job sites.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to various locations as needed.
