Location: Thames Water Iver South, Colnbrook, Berkshire

Job type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours plus every other weekend (working both early and late shifts)

Salary: OTE £37,000 per annum (basic pay, overtime, on call allowance, and bonuses)

About the Role

Due to continued growth and development, we are looking for customer-focused people to join our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to residential sites in a van, traveling around the region, to power a high-pressure water jet for restoration
  • Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems
  • Record each job report accurately on the specialist equipment provided
  • Run diagnostics and repairs on drains
  • Deliver good customer service
  • Maintain good health and safety practice while carrying out works
  • Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished
  • Comply with health and safety responsibilities, e.g. PPE, safe site set-up protecting Lanes Group employees, the public, and other road users
  • Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms
  • Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE and utilising the lone worker system
  • Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival
  • Liaise with the client regarding process and any updates
  • Provide support to your colleagues
  • Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use
  • Report any defects or malfunctions
  • Carry out risk assessments and take a mature approach to risk perception
  • Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
  • Complete any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will be hardworking, respectful and compliant with health and safety standards. Experience using high-pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA and confined spaces) are an advantage. You must have a full UK driver’s licence as our vehicles are all manual.
