We are currently recruiting for Site Supervisors to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire.

About the Role

As a Site Supervisor, you will

  • Work with the Senior Management Team, Client and Local Authority to agree extent of works and maintain relationships throughout.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
  • Experience and ability to encourage and enable personal development.
  • Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers.
  • Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers engaged in all activities concerned with the civil works aspects of the contract.

Ability to optimise resources by ensuring that the work is scheduled out appropriately with the assistance of the scheduling team.

  • Responsible for managing the team's fleet/plant and material requirements to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works.

Able to demonstrate good organisational skills, following policies, procedures, and work practices, and developing improvements where necessary.

  • Ability to produce method statements and procedures.

Competent in reading and understanding specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related to work and engineering documentation.

Keeps records of all work completed.

Ensuring our client systems are updating in real time.

  • Command respect of the workforce and develop excellent working relationships with all other department personnel as well as client management.
  • Must be a confident communicator to liaise both with internal and external clients.
  • Able to give instructions in an efficient and effective way to the workforce and responsible for the daily management of the teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixtures, location, and placement of pipe sections and understand shoring designs.
  • Ensure that work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment, and materials.

Prevent waste and misuse of equipment, materials, and tools.

Supervises work crews to best utilise manpower and materials, exercise discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.

  • Familiar with all HS&E, quality procedures, regulations and strictly enforce them with the workforce under their responsibility.
  • Responsible for the day to day well‑being of the teams under your control, identifies, formulates, and implements training programs for the workforce under his responsibility.
  • Complies with the highest level of safety during all stages of work to avoid any type of incidents and/or accidents.

About You

We are looking for individuals who

  • Possess previous experience of supervision within the Waste Water Industry
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • This role is about managing people, so previous managerial experience is essential. We aspire to get the best out of all our employees & you will be key to this!
  • Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Have excellent time management skills, with ability to deliver tasks to deadline.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving targets.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving with a focus on achieving results.
  • Proven experience in a previous Supervisor Role within the Utilities Sector – preferably in the Drainage Industry.
  • Working Hours & Location
  • Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 47.5 hours per week
  • Location: Malton, Aldwarke, Bradford and surrounding regional areas
  • Company Car / Car allowance
  • 25 days holiday + Bank holidays
