About the Role:
We are seeking a Waste Water Operative to join our team working on our United Utilities contract based in Bamber Bridge, Preston, covering their North West network. This role is joining on our Hybrids work stream.
Location: Preston
Salary: £14.11 per hour or £36,693 per annum working 50 hours per week.
Hours of work: 50 hours per week with paid breaks. Shifts over 7 days on an 18-week shift rota (weekend work is required). Typically working 9am-7pm.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with a Wastewater Operative to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities.
- Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns such as timelines.
- Inspecting drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
- Assisting with all aspects of high pressure water jetting.
- Operating high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
- Assisting with CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
- Competent in using an electronic device - laptop/tablet for data entry purposes.
- Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures.
- Performing routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
Qualities desirable for the role:
- Driver's licence is mandatory.
- Experience is desirable; however, if you’re looking to start your career within utilities, full training will be offered.
