We are currently recruiting for a Streetworks Compliance Officer to support the Director of Streetworks Compliance and Streetworks teams across the Regulated Water & Utilities (North) contracts checking levels of compliance with the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 and its relevant codes of practice, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and Highway Authorities Permit Schemes and helping in driving performance improvement through the monitoring of contract performance in Streetworks. Helping to develop and manage improvement plans to help reduce the possible cost of failure to the business.

- Location: Leyland
- Hours of work: 40 hours per week 08:00 - 16:30
- Majority working from Home
About the Role
Responsibilities - but not limited to:
- Clear and prompt support of Streetworks issues
- Competent management of fines and defects relating to New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 and its relevant codes of practice, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and Highway Authorities Permit Scheme
- To produce reports based on the cost of failure and to be able to present the findings of these reports
- Support in ensuring Local Authority issues are closed in a timely manner
- A supporting point of contact within Regulated Water & Utilities in relation to the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 and its relevant codes of practice, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and Highway Authorities Permit Schemes
- A supporting point of escalation for the Regulated Water & Utilities Teams, Permitting Teams and Operation Teams in all things relating to permits in accordance with the Streetworks Act 1991 and its relevant codes of practice, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and Highway Authorities Permit Schemes
- Support on early engagement with local authorities for street works / permit requirements and point of escalation for them during delivery
- Support the Compliance Teams and Operations Teams in administering Street Works fines / Defects with Business Partners - ensure these are actioned / closed out in a timely manner
- Ensure Streetworks Compliance data is passed through to the Client through project dashboards, Section 74 breaches, Fixed Penalty Notices, Breach of Permits and defects
- To support the Director of Streetworks Compliance in their duties
- To attend meetings relating to Streetworks Compliance
Skills and behaviours
- Experience in street works and reinstatement
- Expertise in the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 and its relevant codes of practice
- Able to develop business plans to help drive improvement across the business
- Working knowledge of HAUC UK advice notes
- 3/5 years + experience as a Technician in a Streetworks Functionality or Reinstatement Supervisor / Specialist
- Have strong operational experience with experience in working with Business Partner
- Understand Streetworks and can engage with HA's / LA's and relevant stakeholders to implement Streetworks improvement plans
- Customer relationship management
- Experience with Network & Asset Management software i.e., Street Manager or similar
- Full clean driving licence
- Dynamism - to continually move things forward by pushing ourselves to deliver ambitious goals and deliver change
