Our client is a leading provider of construction safety solutions with a wide-ranging client base in Rail & Construction, Power, Transmission, Manufacturing, and Distribution. They are currently looking for a Transport Operations Manager at their site in Glasgow on a Monday to Friday basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight, governance, and support to the operation and wider team in the effective management of all commercial vehicles, plant, fleet, and drivers.
- Agree vehicle and equipment specifications, including bespoke requirements.
- Obtain quotes and negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
- Divest equipment optimizing returns while considering responsible and environmental factors.
- Support and challenge Regional Operations Managers to achieve cost-effectiveness through the budget process and monitor maintenance and repair expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory needs, including:
- Operator Licence compliance
- Legal and drivers' hours compliance
- Mandatory vehicle inspections and Statutory Lifting Inspection compliance
- DVSA KPI monitoring and trend analysis
- Contribute towards defining vehicle and equipment standard specifications for the UK.
The Ideal Candidate:
- CPC qualified is essential.
- Experience in a similar role and environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience using routing software and Taco systems.
- Ability to cope in challenging situations and work accurately with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Dedication to customer service and commitment to quality.
- Ability to assess difficult situations and self-manage them while working to tight deadlines.
