We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utility Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting detailed surveys to identify, map, and record underground utilities and infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects, utilise state-of-the-art equipment, and contribute to the growth and success of our company.

About the role:

  • Location: Leeds
  • Hours: Mon – Friday (7am – 5pm – 45 hours per week)
  • Salary: market related salary

As a Utilities Mapping Surveyor, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive utility surveys using advanced surveying techniques and equipment.
  • Accurately identify, locate, and map underground utilities including water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, and sewer systems.
  • Utilise Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), electromagnetic locators, and other surveying tools to collect data and create detailed utility maps.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure survey objectives are met and deliverables are of the highest quality.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and regulations while working in diverse environments and conditions.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to junior surveying staff as needed.

Experience and qualifications required for the role:

  • Level 3 minimum qualification in Utility Mapping and Surveying or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working as a Utility Surveyor, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as GPR, electromagnetic locators, total stations, and GPS systems.
  • Competent in gathering survey data and have experience with survey software, including n4ce / LSS / CAD.
  • Clear understanding of PAS128.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
