About The Role

As a Traffic Management Operative, you will be required to work on our planned Traffic Management Schemes on our Thames Water contract, helping them to run smoothly and efficiently to achieve maximum production in a working day, whilst maintaining a high Health and Safety standard. We are looking for the right individual to progress within the company up to supervisor and manager levels. The works cover the outskirts of London areas on our Thames Water contract. You will also be required to go on a standby rota and be flexible to the business needs in working nights and weekends. This is a full time, permanent position within a growing, and busy department.

All staff will be subject to Drug and Alcohol testing if there is cause to believe such have been taken or if any accidents occur.

Location: Grazeley, Reading, Berkshire

Hours: 50 hours per week

Salary: £43,940 OTE per annum (inclusive of overtime)

Responsibilities – But Not Limited To

  • oversee all methods of traffic management; Give and take, Priority, Stop/Go boards, Portable traffic signals, Convoy working, Road closures, Lane closures and diversions.
  • carry out risk assessments and method statements on works involving traffic management.
  • ensure that all activities associated with the job are carried out according to laid down procedures where possible.
  • ensure that daily vehicle checks are carried out to ensure cleanliness and tidiness of vehicle and the safety of the driver and passenger.
  • demonstrate initiative by constantly looking to see where improvements can be made.
  • be happy to assist the public, directing them through safe site lines when required.

Experience And Qualifications

  • Lantra 12d accreditation, TTMBC, 12d (M1, M2, M5) Lantra 12 a/b accreditation.
  • Full valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Be able to read and understand CAD drawings, in relation to the works required preferably to have mechanical ability in relation to Traffic Lights.
  • Be IT literate as usage of a tablet will be needed to input data.
