Location: Camberley STW, Riverside Way, Camberley, Surrey.

Job Type: Permanent, full-time.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours plus every other weekend (working both early and late shifts).

Salary: OTE £37,000 per annum, made up of basic pay, overtime, on‑call allowance and bonuses.

About the Role

We are seeking a customer‑focused Van Pack Drainage Engineer to work on our Thames Water contract service, delivering real and effective solutions to wastewater network and drainage problems.

  • Travel to residential sites in a van and operate a high‑pressure water jet for restoration.
  • Clean, clear, and maintain drainage systems.
  • Record each job report correctly on specialist equipment.
  • Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
  • Maintain good health and safety practice while carrying out works.
  • Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
  • Comply with health and safety responsibilities, e.g., PPE, safe site set‑ups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users.
  • Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
  • Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE and utilising the lone worker system.
  • Dynamically risk‑assess site access and working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival.
  • Liaise with the client regarding process and any updates.
  • Provide support to colleagues.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use.
  • Report any defects or malfunctions.
  • Carry out risk assessments and maintain a mature approach to risk perception.
  • Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and responsibilities toward them.
  • Complete any other reasonable ad‑hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management.

About You

You are a hard‑working, respectful individual who complies with health and safety standards. Experience with high‑pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage. You must hold a full UK driver’s licence as our vehicles are all manual.
