In this critical role, we ensure our organisation is known for being the best in everything we do, leaving a legacy of absolute quality and compliance, and keeping our promises at all times. We operate 24/7, and as such, you are required to work flexible hours, weekends, and participate in an on-call rota. Full training, PPE, and use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.
Individuals working as technical specialists are responsible for:
- Analysing and providing solutions to technical drainage issues
- Providing technical support to other departments and operatives
- Supervising work processes and ensuring health and safety
Position: Technical Specialist (Targeted Catchment Investigations Workstream)
Location: Slough Head Office (Slough, Berkshire); covering Mogden, North London and South London
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours and on-call rota
Salary: OTE £34,000 per annum depending upon experience

About The Role:
Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer-focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising Operatives on all aspects of day-to-day duties
- Liaising with Network Engineers and Thames Water’s operational team
- Liaising with planners and schedulers
- Pollution tracing
- Enabling works
- Auditing and compliance checks
- Checking competency of new starters
- Being aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
- Any other reasonable ad hoc tasks, duties or projects requested by management
