Project Manager- Rail (Drainage & Utilties)
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in rail infrastructure to oversee drainage, utilities, and civil engineering projects across the Transport for London (TfL) and wider rail network. The role involves managing operational delivery, leading teams on site, and ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest rail industry standards.

Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, including railway standards and possession protocols.
- Undertake site audits, inspections, risk assessments, and compliance reports to maintain safety across all activities.
- Work closely with clients such as TfL, Network Rail, and other key rail stakeholders to deliver projects in line with contract KPIs and performance measures.
- Oversee delivery teams to ensure all works meet required quality standards within the constraints of rail access windows, blockades, and possessions.
- Manage project budgets, maximising revenue while maintaining tight cost control.
- Ensure all plant, vehicles, and tools are rail-compliant, certified, and supported by valid calibration/maintenance records (e.g. SAMSARA).
- Lead, coach, and support staff to drive continuous improvement in communication, reporting, and site documentation, including photographic evidence and assurance packs.
- Plan and coordinate resources effectively to maximise productivity, ensuring work is delivered safely and to programme.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, supply chain partners, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities within the rail environment to support contract growth and resource utilisation.
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the rail industry (TfL or Network Rail environments preferred).
- Strong track record in delivering projects safely and efficiently within rail access/possession regimes.
- Knowledge of Sentinel and PTS requirements.
- Experience managing drainage, utilities, or water jetting projects (preferred).
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to oversee multiple teams and subcontractors.
- Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 penalty points).
