As a Digital Device Repair Apprentice, you’ll learn how to diagnose and repair everyday tech like smartphones, tablets and laptops. You’ll be hands-on from day one—working with real devices, real customers and real problems to solve. Apprenticeship Information:
- Level 3 Digital Device Repair Apprenticeship
- Duration: Approximately 21 months + EPA
- Hours: 40 per week
- Annual Salary: £22,048 (The advertised salary applies to the first year of the apprenticeship and will increase in the second year, subject to satisfactory progress, attendance, and commitment to the programme)
- Qualification delivered through an approved training provider
- Dedicated study time provided as part of your working week
- Ongoing support from your manager, mentor, and training provider
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and book in faulty digital devices for repair
- Diagnose faults accurately and identify required repairs
- Carry out technical and software repairs, including replacing components
- Manage the repair process from start to finish, ensuring timely completion
- Ensure repaired devices are checked, tested and safely returned to customers
- Work in line with company processes, service standards and SLAs
- Use specialist tools, equipment and digital systems to carry out repairs
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used and work completed
- Update internal systems such as customer databases or CRM platforms
- Communicate with customers to provide updates on repair progress
- Respond to queries via phone, email or face-to-face interactions
- Deliver a professional and customer-focused service experience
- Help manage stock of parts and components for repairs
- Liaise with suppliers, service centres and manufacturers where needed
- Support handling of warranty returns and replacement processes
- Support environmentally responsible practices, including reuse and recycling of components
- Dispose of damaged or non-repairable devices safely and correctly
- Follow company policies, procedures and data security requirements
- Work closely with colleagues, suppliers and technical teams
- Support workflow across repair, logistics and customer service functions
- Share knowledge and contribute to improving processes
- Complete all required apprenticeship training and off-the-job learning
- Apply learning to develop technical repair and customer service skills
- Participate in progress reviews with line manager and training provider

Essential: Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent of Grade C-A*) or Functional Skills Level 2
