We operate 24/7, and as such, you are required to work flexible hours, weekends, and participate in an on-call rota. Full training, PPE, and use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.
Position: CCTV Drainage Engineer
Location: Deepham Sewage Treatment Works, North London Region (Enfield, North London)
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 50 hours a week (3 weeks of days, 1 week of nights)
Salary: OTE £37,800 per annum (made up of basic pay, including night premium, overtime, and bonuses)

About the Role:
- Due to continued growth and development, we are looking for customer-focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.
- Travelling to residential sites in a two-person crew, around the region, in one of our custom-equipped fleet of high-tech vans.
- Survey the network of drainage systems.
- Assess pipe conditions to produce high-quality reports with the help of state-of-the-art drain surveying equipment.
- Ensuring jobs attended are completed.
- Troubleshoot any problems that arise on the job.
- Liaise with the team of Technical Specialists regarding access and equipment issues.
- Ensuring safe site setup.
- Updating the job notes on VISTEC.
- Ensure photos are taken of the setup, inspection chamber, and whole site.
- Delivering good customer service.
- Maintaining good H&S practice while carrying out works.
- Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.
- Any reasonable ad-hoc tasks, projects, or duties as requested by management.
What is essential is the ability to work safely to quickly diagnose and deliver practical and efficient solutions to attain the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
About You:
- The ideal candidate will be hard-working and respectful and comply with health and safety standards.
- Experience in the use of OS19X is useful but not essential.
- Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.
- A full UK driver’s licence is essential as both crew members may be needed to drive the vehicle.
