Purpose of the role: The Product Owner is to serve as the strategic product architect and operational bridge, initially for our Fleet platforms, and then to move on to join our wider product team to manage our field management solutions. This role is responsible for deeply understanding the current environment—including the people, processes, and existing technology—to design and implement a digital roadmap that eliminates manual friction and maximizes efficiency. By translating complex business requirements into actionable configurations within our platforms, the Product Owner ensures that every stakeholder, from the back-office dispatcher to drivers to the technician on-site, has the real-time data and streamlined workflows necessary to deliver world-class service during this period of significant organizational change.

Base Location: Based in the North of England, where travel to office locations in Leyland, Eccles and Leeds is sustainable.

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Salary: £50,000+ depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Workflow Architecture: Define and configure the environment (from initial lead and intelligent scheduling to real-time tracking and automated invoicing) to ensure a seamless, paperless flow between the office and the field.
  • Stakeholder Synthesis & Roadmap Ownership: Act as the central translator between senior leadership’s commercial goals and the frontline’s operational realities, maintaining a prioritized product backlog that balances technical debt with high-impact new features.
  • Digital Adoption & Change Leadership: Lead the cultural and technical transition by developing training programs, custom 'RAMS' (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), and user-friendly mobile worksheets that ensure high data quality and platform buy-in from engineers.
  • Systems Integration & Data Integrity: Manage the 'under-the-hood' health of the platform, overseeing API integrations with external ERP or accounting software and ensuring that reporting dashboards provide 'single source of truth' accuracy for the business.
  • Continuous Operational Optimization: Proactively analyze platform performance metrics—such as 'wrench time,' travel efficiency, and first-time fix rates—to iteratively refine processes and unlock the platform’s full ROI potential.
