Highways Drainage Engineer role at Lanes Group

We are seeking a Drainage Engineer to be based in Barrow-in-Furness to oversee our new contract with Cumbria County Council.

You will work closely with an HGV driver to clean along the highways around the region. Flexibility in regards to hours is a must, as you will be required to stay overnight on occasions, and work some weekends. No two days are the same here at Sapphire, be prepared to learn and develop along the way! You will also be responsible for using a company tablet on a daily basis.

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Hours: 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 6am-4pm day shift and 5pm-3am night shift)

Salary: £32,500 per annum, X1.5 for overtime

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery when needed
• Work as part of a team alongside an HGV driver
• Be available to work days, nights and occasionally away from home
• Use a tablet to record data

Experience and Qualifications

• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Team player
• Positive, can‑do attitude
• Competent in IT, accurate data entry
