Lanes Group is seeking an experienced and driven Stations Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of drainage operations across the London Underground station environment. Reporting directly to the Drainage Contract Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of planned, reactive, and emergency drainage works across station assets. The role will work in close partnership with the Track Drainage Manager, ensuring a coordinated approach to contract delivery across both stations and track environments. This is a senior operational leadership role requiring strong people management, stakeholder engagement, commercial awareness, and a relentless focus on safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all drainage operations within station environments, ensuring delivery against contractual requirements, KPIs, and client expectations.
  • Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of reactive, emergency, and planned drainage works.
  • Ensure operational resources are deployed effectively to maximise productivity and service delivery.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement improvements where required.
  • Provide leadership and direction to supervisors, team leaders, and frontline operatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the Track Drainage Manager to ensure seamless contract delivery across all workstreams.
  • Champion a positive safety culture throughout the operation.
  • Ensure full compliance with Lanes Group policies, client standards, and legislative requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored.
  • Conduct regular site visits, audits, and safety engagements.
  • Promote continuous improvement in health, safety, environmental, and quality performance.
  • Act as a key point of contact for TfL and London Underground stakeholders across station assets.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with client representatives.
  • Attend operational and performance meetings as required.
  • Ensure client concerns and escalations are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Support the Drainage Contract Manager in delivering budgetary and financial targets.
  • Monitor operational costs and resource utilisation.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and value creation.
  • Ensure accurate completion of operational records and support commercial processes where required.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop operational teams.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development plans.
  • Manage attendance, conduct, and performance issues in line with company procedures.
  • Support recruitment, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Skills And Experience Required

  • Proven experience managing operational teams within a drainage, utilities, rail, highways, or infrastructure environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience.
  • Experience delivering reactive and planned maintenance contracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and operational compliance.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing operational budgets.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience working on TfL or London Underground contracts.
  • Knowledge of drainage operations and asset maintenance.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
  • ILM Leadership qualification or equivalent management training.
  • PTS, LU ICI, or other rail-related competencies.
