About the Role
Drainage Engineer Van Pack role at Lanes Group. We are recruiting for Drainage Engineers to work in 2 person teams, covering the whole of Sussex. This is a permanent, full-time position with training provided to ensure we deliver high standards of operation.
Location: Hailsham Depot (Hailsham, East Sussex). Once competent you will work from door to door. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week, with the requirement to work flexible hours, weekends and participate in an on-call rota. Full training / PPE / use of company equipment will be provided.
Salary: £30,500 per annum. Benefits include 21 days holiday (plus bank holidays); health cash plan; onsite parking; auto enrolment pension scheme; friendly working environment.
Responsibilities
- Travelling to residential sites in a van you are responsible for, around the region powering a high-pressure water jet for restoration.
- Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
- Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
- Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
- Delivering good customer service.
- Maintaining good health and safety practices while carrying out works.
- Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
- Comply with health and safety responsibilities i.e. PPE / safe site setups protecting employees, the public and other road users.
- Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
- Ability to work unsupervised in all weather conditions and using PPE, lone worker system, etc.
- Dynamically risk assess site access & working conditions depending on arrival circumstances.
- Liaise with the client regarding progress and updates.
- Provide support to colleagues.
- Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before/after use.
- Report any defects or malfunctions related to training.
- Carry out risk assessments with a proactive approach to risk perception.
- Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and responsibilities towards them.
- Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management.
About You
The ideal candidate will be hard working, respectful and compliant with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage. You must have a full UK driver\’s licence.
